LT-110-1 - Workshop on PID Loop Tuning
Description
In this workshop, you will learn how to tune simple loops with simple methods (by hand), and how to recognize faulty loops.
Who should attend
Anyone involved in the diagnostic of control-related problems or responsible for increasing loop performance.
Objectives
- Study the basic principles
- Distinguish open and closed loops
- Choose the appropriate performance criteria
- Understand tuning objectives and process types
- Recognize process flaws
- Describe the data needed for process modeling (done by hand)
- Describe the role of a PID controller
- Start up a simple loop
- Describe different modes: manual, automatic, cascade
- Describe how data is collected with TaiJi
- Enumerate results and diagnostics obtained from TaiJi
