Trick for this month : Remote tuning
We recently started to optimize via Internet. A secure connection is used to link computers from different sites.
For
example, PIDTuner or PlantTriage (by ExperTune) software installed in
your plant is used by Top Control engineer from our office. This
approach is very efficient - almost as much as if it was done on site.
Data
can also be exchanged via Email. Top Control engineer sends a series of
tests to be done by plant personnel. He then analyzes the data and
sends suggested modifications and supplementary tests to validate the
solution.
However, we observe that this
approach is more efficient if Top Control engineer met plant personnel
during a previous visit. This face to face contact ensures better
communication and understanding.
